Craving Change is a cognitive-behavioural program focused on eating behaviour, but it is not just for dietitians. Nurses, social workers, family physicians and pharmacists are also using the Craving Change ‘psychology of eating’ techniques and tools in their practice. We recently heard from a nurse who is very enthusiastic about the program:
“I was very excited to bring Craving Change to our diabetes clinic. I was nervous at first, because as a nurse, I leave a lot of food and nutrition discussion to my dietitian colleagues. The Craving Change facilitation approach along with the support of my co-facilitator colleague helped me to build my confidence in broaching discussions that I have been wanting to have with my clients for years. Our clients were excited and energized about the workshop, and were eager to talk about the ‘why’ around food as we typically focus on the ‘how much’ and ‘when’ and ‘what’ around food. I will continue to use Craving Change in my practice and already have another session booked for another group of clients.”
