The Selkirk Community Health Centre in Manitoba requires that clients in their bariatric surgery program attend a Craving Change workshop prior to their surgery. Bonnie, one of the facilitators of the program, shared typical feedback from the attendees:
“A very popular discussion is the “Why it’s Hard to Change” Eating under the Influence of Our Environment. Clients stated that they’d never thought about how the packaging and placement of certain items in a store influence how and what we buy to eat. The “food is everywhere” conversation was a real eye opener for the group and for me! The feedback I’ve received is that clients can relate to “it not being all of our fault” in the way we eat.”
“I very much enjoy facilitating Craving Change. I always have participants telling how much they enjoy Craving Change, and how it’s help them make changes in the way they’re eating for the better.”
