Sitcom Demonstrates Craving Change

Posted: April 5, 2015

A recent episode of the sitcom, “Mike & Molly” called “No Pie Zone” demonstrates a number of the issues discussed in the Craving Change® program. Mike has been working hard and has lost weight and now he succumbs to a high fat dessert due to persuasion by a waiter. When Mike regains some weight, he is thrown off track and uses a few typical, ineffective strategies to lose the extra pounds while he berates himself. He realizes later that he used food as a reward. He also begins to recognize events during his childhood that may have contributed to his relationship with food. By the end of the show, Mike concludes that despite the number on the scale he feels much better, both physically and about himself, and that this is what matters.
