April is Stress Awareness Month. As stress is one of the most common triggers for emotional eating, it makes sense to combine nutrition and psychology expertise for optimal client support and self-management education. The Craving Change program was developed in 2008 by Wendy Shah, Registered Dietitian and Dr. Colleen Cannon, Clinical Psychologist, to address this need.
Understanding one’s relationship with food is critical to making and sustaining positive eating behaviour change. The Craving Change program focuses on ‘thought awareness and restructuring’ skills that are important tools for stress management. Thousands of clinicians have incorporated the program’s cognitive-behaviour activities and resources into their practice with rave reviews.
