Craving Change® is a truly versatile program! It’s applicable to a variety of clientele and can be modified to meet various unique needs. Christine Lee, a dietitian with Humber River Hospital, recently described how clients attending different programs in their organization benefit from Craving Change®.
“The Craving Change program ties in nicely with our DEC program because clients having difficulty eating well to manage their diabetes can attend. Upon evaluation, clients report they find the program helpful and would refer their friends/family. The Craving Change program helps fill a gap which is applicable to all of our patients.”
“I facilitated the Craving Change program in collaboration with the Mental Health centre of our hospital. After discussion with the Mental Health psychologist, dietitian, and nurse, I tailored the program for their clientele. The changes included:
– Providing the workbooks in smaller pieces and omitting certain topics which are less relatable or already covered in their other programs. This way it does not overwhelm the participants.
– Shortening the program to 1.5-hour instead of 2-hour sessions over the duration of three weeks. We tailored the time in the morning when clients are more likely to attend.
– Emphasizing, at the beginning of the class, that all information shared is confidential and that participation is not mandatory but appreciated.”
